Roald Dahl’s   James and the Giant Peach
Music and Lyrics by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul   Book by Timothy Allen McDonald
Presented by Mt Ararat Stage Company

Friday, March 10, 7:30 PM     Saturday, March 11, 7:30 PM    Sunday, March 12, 3:00 PM
Tickets:  www.mtastage.weebly.com

When James is sent by his conniving aunts to chop down their old fruit tree, he discovers a magic potion that results in a tremendous peach... and launches a journey of enormous proportions. Suddenly, James finds himself in the center of the gigantic peach – among human-sized insects with equally oversized personalities – but, after it falls from the tree and rolls into the ocean, the group faces hunger, sharks and plenty of disagreements. Thanks to James' quick wit and creative thinking, the residents learn to live and work together as a family. The dangerous voyage is a success, but the adventure takes a whole new twist once they land on the Empire State Building.

"Tried and True, Plus a Newer Crew"   NEW   Hiroya Miura, Guest Conductor
Program  Tanner Porter: Propellers in the Sun; Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: Symphony No. 35 in D major, K. 385, “Haffner”

We welcome Hiroya Miura of Bates College to the podium to conduct our March concerts. MSO's Music Director, Rohan Smith, will not be conducting this concert as originally planned because of family responsibilities. Miura was already slated as guest conductor for our May concerts. We are sure you will enjoy his musical take on this program.

Concerto in D Minor for Two Violins by Bach, featuring violinists Eva Gruesser and Rohan Smith, was scheduled for the March program, but it has been postponed to a future date. The MSO will perform the lively Concerto Grosso by Corelli instead.

Saturday, Sept. 2, 7 pm
The Filipino American Samahan of Maine  will sponsor a musical concert.
The performer will be MARCELITO POMOY - "America's Got Talent" Champion.

Marcelito is a multi-talented performer with both male and female voices. He is unique in that he can sing in both a male tenor and a female soprano voice. Because of this, he's able to perform popular male-female duets without a partner. Not only does he sing both high and low register, but he can switch back and forth between them seamlessly.
The other performers are:  PETER ROSALITA- a 10-year-old Filipino singer, "America's Got Talent" - Season 16 Semi-Finalist
Dance sensation

These performers took the heart of Filipino people with their special talents and are touring the US and other countries this year. Maine is the first state to host this Filipino musical concert in the Northeast.
